How can a new grad get an interview?

I've been working with a CS College on the topic of helping their students get jobs.  I helped put together a symposium earlier this year where we covered the job process end-to-end.  Some students responded that knowing the process is great, but they're stuck on getting interviews. Our second symposium is about getting interviews.  Here's the outline of what we will be discussing: Why don't new grads get interviews? Networking! How to resume and LinkedIn. Where and how to apply. How keep a positive outlook. I've spoken with a handful of bootcamp graduates and I'm also going to be speaking with a self-taught, and the same ideas apply to them as well. I'll be updating this blog with more in the near future.

Introduction

I'm Solomon Duskis.  I've been in the software industry for about two decades now.  I'm currently a Staff Software Engineer at Google where I manage a small team responsible for a Low-Code Application Platform (LCAP).  I also think about how CS students can get internships and jobs. In the near term I will be posting thoughts on both LCAP and help CS students.
